I'm Ross, and I'm a freelance senior creative and copywriter – a brain and pen for hire. I generate the ideas, I scamp the designs, I write the copy. One-stop creative shop.
I've been writing words in exchange for cash since 2013, when I bagged my first copywriter job with the now dead-and-buried Phones 4u, and later, Currys. I then moved agency-side with Redwood BBDO. Fast-forward to 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, Illustrious Creative was born, partnering with the likes of Iris Worldwide, VCCP, McCann, Imagination, and HH Global.
I've worked with all sorts of household names, including: Adidas, AEG, Badger Beers, Barclays, BBC, British Heart Foundation, BT, Currys, Dulux, EE, Electrolux, FedEx, Fujifilm, Hewlett-Packard, Homebase, HSBC, IKEA, Jaguar Land Rover, Just Eat, Kia, LEGO, Marks & Spencer, Nectar, NIVEA, Petplan, Prezzo, Provet, Samsung, Stagecoach, Starbucks, Tilda, Virgin Media, Westfield, and Which?.
I've written for a lot more that aren't on the telly or the high street.
In 2023, I published a dummy's guide to freelancing called GOOD SCARY: A no-nonsense setup guide for creative freelancers, available at Amazon websites nationwide (second edition coming soon). Copy guru, Vikki Ross, said she loved it.
